Xanathar’s Guide to Everything
This Xanathar’s Guide to Everything Review is here to help you understand what is great about this book.
Xanathar’s Guide to Everything is a breath of fresh air that adds a huge expansion to the core ruleset. It is not a needed book to start up a game but it adds a lot of dynamic content to the already impressive game.
What is also included is 20 sub classes that were not mentioned in the Players Handbook.
Overall Impression
The guidebook also has suggestions about what to do with your players in different scenarios that were not covered, or some elaboration is added to them. Such as a “Revisit of Downtime Activities”, that section I found particularly interesting.
The reason for it being interesting is everyone knows how to run combat pretty well but most GMs and PCs have a hard time with the roleplay aspect.
That section gives you some more ideas on what to do as well as some tables to run encounters with.
That is only scratching the surface of what this jam packed book has to offer.
Conclusion
In conclusion this updated book with some new content to game doesn’t seem to over shadow the old content. If anything it just adds a better “flavor” to the game as a whole.
Power creeping doesn’t seem to be a big concern either. If anything all the new subclasses and spells don’t overpower anyone in particular.
This book is nothing short of fantastic and add some more style, flair and fun to an already dynamic game.
Some great content to be had ,some might be overlooked, I give this: 4/5 stars.
